This is an update to the update of the original post on this NetBook.
Just a quick update on the New Battery Life.
I'm getting Nine - Ten (9-10) Hours of battery life under my normal operation of this NetBook, using tools such as Windows Live Writer, Blogger Backup Utility, WebRazor Pro, iTunes, Firefox, Map Source, MS Office, Verizon Wireless USB 3G Modem, Wireless Mouse, etc.
The new 7200mAh lithium ion battery is exactly what this Acer NetBook needed.
I’m really digging this NetBook. That said, I’ve picked up another battery to extend the useable battery life of this jewel. The stock battery is 2200mAh lithium ion, and delivers about an hour of serious use with heavy hard disk usage or about two hours of just browsing the web.
The new battery is 7200mAh lithium ion, and has four times the batteries in the enlarged battery unit that tilts the NetBook forward, as the battery extends below the bottom of the NetBook. It works like a champ and should provide six plus hours of battery operation. I purchased the battery for $50 US out of China from Deal Extreme.
I also updated my Verizon Wireless Broadband Modem to a UM150 3G USB model. It’s not the latest & greatest but it cost me zip as I exchanged my old USB Rev A Broadband Modem for it at the office, where we have a loaner system for Broadband Modems.

I'm really digging this NetBook as it's pretty much everything I was looking for when I ordered it.
I have added two pieces of hardware to make it a breeze to use. I picked up a Logitech Wireless Mouse and a Matias Folding USB Keyboard, so now the human interface is just that much more convenient.
I've moved over all of my licensed software from the LapTop; Mapsource, WebRazor Pro, iTunes, Office, Blogger BackUp, iPod to Computer Transfer, Windows Live Writer, etc, etc.
This little NetBook is now the feature rich and power packed device I need for reliable and light-weight publishing.

If you follow this Blog, you already know that I ordered an Acer NetBook from Comp-USA online. Despite the ongoing issues with Comp-USA, the Acer NetBook is an excellent lite-weight NetBook packed full of usable features.
My only gripe so far was the tons of pre-loaded trial software that all tries to load while your doing the initial setup. This is a hassle to deal with and I chose to delete all of it.
I ran the Windows Update client and applied thirty eight (38) patches to the OS and installed Windows software. I also updated the browser to IE7x as well as downloading and configure Firefox v3.0.10. I'll be adding more Firefox Add-ons later today to bring it up to the level of the Firefox install on my company laptop.

I’ve been using LapLink PCmover Professional to move applications from the Laptop to the NetBook and so far, all are working well.
I’ve installed all of my blogging tools but one, and that will be completed shortly. I still have the Expanded Memory Card to get worked into the system and setup the webcam.
The Audio Quality is superb and the Screen is amazingly clear and crisp. Again I have to say, this NetBook is a great deal at $200. Too bad Comp-USA ruined the purchase experience or this would of been a Homerun.
