I'm seriously considering buying a GL1800

GL1800
I have spent a lot of time riding with James on his GL1800 as well as another good friend, John who has one. Both James & John are two of the hardest riding guys I know besides me and both of them swear by their GW's and they just seem bullet proof.

I like the idea of a much larger dealer network and service locations as well as the simplicity of the plug & play accessory additions.

Both James & John purchase Service Cards through Honda that cover 5 services completely.  James does the minor services such as oil changes and uses the service card for major services only, thus saving big bucks on dealer services.

James gets much better tire wear on the GL1800 than I do on the K1200LT, only changing the front tire every second rear tire change thus further enjoying costs savings.

I would have to mod the front seat, removing the 3-4 inch pad in front of the rear seat. This makes the knee angle much better for me. Some Mick-O-Pegs, HID lights and my Valentine 1 Radar Locator along with my GPS and it would be good to go.

The GL1800's have available Heated Seats & Grips like the K1200LT as well as Feet Heaters. The integrated CB Radio and Stereo just work perfectly without any fuss. The electronically adjustable suspension is a nice touch as well.

I'm not interested in the Honda/Garmin GPS as it has very limited functionality. I would use my Garmin 376C as it has built in XM Radio and Color Weather Radar.

I’d love to hear your opinions on this!

No Way!!!!!!!

First Joe and now Dave!

It's IS the end of times.

All jokes aside, sadly, I think you may be right. My LT may be my first and only BMW.

I would get a Harley myself, but that is a wicked motorcycle no matter which way you look at it. Lately, I've definitely been wanting to buy one since i cracked open the Zen of Motorcycle Maintenance. And Utah would be the perfect place to just cruise and explore back roads.
